１シーズン=82試合
NBAの当たり前のようなルールでしたが、
マイケル・ジョーダンが２回目の３連覇を達成し、引退後初めてのシーズン開幕が50試合に短縮した印象深いシーズンでした。
そもそも、なぜ50試合になったかを遡ると、選手側とオーナー側とのお金の話でこうなったらしい。
NBAも一つの会社だと思うとこのような自体はおこりえると思ってしまうのが難しいところですね。
98-99シーズンの思い出といえば、やはりブルズです。
先ほども言った通り３連覇を成し遂げた後のブルズは一言でいうと、散々な結果のシーズンではありましたが、今思うと、優勝メンバーでもあるトニー クーコッチ、ロンハーパー、ビルウィ二トン、ランディーブラウン、ディッキーシンプキンズ、キースブースが残留してた事はもっとチームを去ると思っていた自分にとっては個人的に良い方ではなかったのかなと思う。
ただ、今データをみると、50試合のなかで最高連勝記録は2連勝だった事を考えると、このシーズンからヘッドコーチに就任したティムフロイドも当時大学のHCを経て、NBAで初めての指揮官を務め、そのチームが90年代に6度も優勝した最強ブルズであった事を考えると、すごいメンタルだなぁーとつくづく考えますし、相当大変だったのが想像できる。
このシーズンのブルズは13勝37敗でもちろん最下位だった。
だけどもブルズのユニホームや選手入場のシーンとか見ちゃうと、なんか勝てそうな気がすると思ってしまったのは私だけではないと思う。（そう信じたい、、、）
あとはブルズのファンは熱狂的な所も好きな部分の一つかもしれません、普通ジョーダン、ピッペン、ロッドマンがいなくなった時点でもう人気が落ち込んでも不思議ではないと思うのですが、ブルズのファンは愛情深いイメージがある。その証明の記録としてブルズはホームでのチケット完売記録を610試合も連続していたのだから。（この記録は1987年から継続していた記録らしい）

ブルズの話をしたので、次に忘れてはならないのがニューヨーク・ニックスです。
なんといっても第８シードからNBAファイナルに進出したというミラクルニックスを実現。
当時ウォーリアーズのHCだったP.Jカーリシモの首を絞めて悪童イメージがっつり付いてしまったスプリーウェルや3Pが得意で中にも切り込む事ができるアラン・ヒューストンやラリー・ジョンソン、マーカス・キャンビー、後にコービーとガチ殴り合いもしちゃうクリス・チャイルズなど90年代前半のユーイング、スタークス、オークリーらがいた時のニックスからまた雰囲気が変わった年でもあったのかなと感じました、スポーツの素晴らしい所を見たシーズンだったなと思いました。
第８シードから成り上がるのって相当な番狂わせですよね。
過去に94年のプレーオフ1回戦で第8シードのデンバー・ナゲッツが第1シードのスーパーソニックスを破る大金星もありましたが、ニックスの場合はNBAファイナルですから凄すぎますよね。その時のマジソンスクエアガーデンの雰囲気とか見たかったなーと思う今日この頃でした。

It was a commonplace rule in the NBA, but it was an impressive season that saw Michael Jordan win his second straight three-game championship and cut his first season opener since retirement to 50 games.
If you go back to why it was 50 games in the first place, it was apparently due to money talks between the players and owners that led to this.
It’s hard to believe that this kind of thing can happen itself when you think the NBA is one company.
When I think of my memories of the 1998-99 season, I still think of the Bulls.
As I said earlier, the Bulls, after winning three straight championships, were, in a word, a season of dismal results, but now that I think about it, I wonder if it wasn’t a good thing for me personally that Tony Cuccinci, Ron Harper, Bill Winiton, Randy Brown, Dickie Simpkins, and Keith Booth, who were also members of the winning team, were retained, as I thought they would be leaving the team more.
However, when I look at the data now, I think about the fact that the highest winning streak in 50 games was 2 wins in a row, and when I think about the fact that Tim Floyd, who took over as head coach this season, was also a college HC at the time and was the first commander in the NBA, and that team was the strongest Bulls that won 6 championships in the 90’s, I really think that’s an amazing mentality, and I can imagine that it was quite difficult.
The Bulls were 13-37 this past season, and of course, they were in last place.
But when I see the Bulls’ uniforms and the scene of the players’ entrance, I feel like we can win I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought so. (I want to believe that,…)
And maybe one of my favorite parts about Bulls fans is the enthusiasm, usually Jordan, Pipp. Penn, I don’t think it’s surprising that the popularity of Rodman has already declined once he’s gone. , Bulls fans have a loving image. And as a record to prove it, the Bulls had a record of 610 consecutive games of selling out tickets at home! From. (This record, apparently, has been an ongoing record since 1987.)
Now that we’ve talked about the Bulls, let’s not forget the New York Knicks next.
After all, they achieved the miracle Knicks, who went from the 8th seed to the NBA Finals.
